The Higher Institute of Nursing (ISE) was created on January 20, 1990 under Decree – Law No. 5 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Angola, published in Diário da República Series 1, no. 5;
From 1989 to 2001 the Ministry of Health was responsible for guaranteeing the human, material and financial resources indispensable to the normal functioning of the training programs of the Higher Institute of Nursing;
In 2001: the Institute was integrated into the Agostinho Neto University.
In 2009: the Higher Institute of Nursing was abolished and the Higher Institute of Health Sciences (ISCISA) was created, in the light of Decree 7/09 of 12 May of the Council of Ministers, with a projection of 18 courses in the Health technologies.
